As the battle between the teams to get their respective NBA superstars heats up, some get caught under the radar.

Big names like Hassan Whiteside, Dwyane Wade and Kevin Durant are often heard in the news, yet other big names get thrown behind the shadows, and that includes Dwight Howard.

And with that trend, it seems that Howard has found the silence comforting, as reports revealed that he has gone back home to Georgia to join the Atlanta Hawks in the coming season.

According to CBS Sports, Howard signed a deal worth $70.5 million for a three-year contract with the Eastern Conference team.

This is now Howard's fourth team in his tenure with the NBA, and he is hoping to finally find a home within the system that the Hawks have grown accustomed to.

Playing three seasons with the Houston Rockets, Howard's role has started to dwindle, and despite many knowing that he is one of the premiere centers in the league, his numbers last season have been sub-par.

Howard averaged 13.7 points per game, which is the lowest since his rookie year back in the 2004-05 season.

He is still a double-double machine and can give a lot to the Hawks, and many are hoping that Howard will finally find some stability in the team.

With Al Horford now a free agent, it seems that the Hawks are not keen on getting their former big man with the move to get Howard.

The Hawks may still keep Horford in the line-up, but according to Mass Live, they would definitely need to unload some players in order to make space to pay Horford.

And that's where Howard comes in as a hopeful replacement if Horford does not stay.

The two players have completely different strengths to offer the team, and getting them both is the main target, but having Howard on board gives them a bigger threat underneath.

Understandably, there are still many doubters on the move that Atlanta did, but for Howard, all he ever needs is to play in a place where he's wanted.

The fact that he is playing at home may be the fortune he has been waiting for, and it could turn out well for both parties.
