Will Chase's days as a series regular may be over, but the actor will still be returning to "Nashville" season 5. Chase has been recently confirmed to reprise his role as Luke Wheeler in the musical drama.

On Sunday, Chris Carmack—who plays Will Lexington—shared the news with fans by posting a photo of him and Chase behind the scenes. In his recent tweet, the actor mentioned that not everyone has heard the last of Rayna's former -fiancé Luke. "It's always a good day opening up for Luke Wheeler!" Carmack wrote in the caption.

Chase is no longer a regular on "Nashville" because he is currently working on ABC's midseason drama "Time After Time." Through Twitter, he responded to his co-star's message and shared his excitement over Luke Wheeler's return. "Felt good to put the boots back on and always great to see YOU brother!" he said.

Fans of the show are well aware that Will and Luke's relationship  has not always been smooth-sailing. Luke previously wanted to drop Will from his label, but judging by the actors' exchange of tweets, it seems that their characters have already made peace with each other. It appears that they have already worked out their differences given that Will is now opening up for Luke in their concert.

As for Will's romantic life, season 4 ended on a happy note for him and Kevin (Kyle Dean Massey) when the two shared a kiss after Will stood up to a radio host who was homophobic.
Will has finally embraced his sexuality and according to TV Guide, his reunion with Kevin will possibly be long-term. The media outlet notes that not only are they back together, they are also considering the idea of settling down. However, it won't be that easy for the duo as they will reportedly face a lot of challenges along the way.

The fifth season of "Nashville" premieres on Thursday, January 5 at 9 p.m. ET on CMT.
