The previous Episode 467 of "Naruto Shippuden" titled "Ashura's Determination" has shown the journey of the Sage of Six Path's two sons as they tried to prove themselves as the worthy successor of Ninshu. The particular episode, however, was more focused on Ashura's experience in a faraway town ravaged by the epic battle between Otsutsuki Kaguya and her twin sons. As Ashura succeeded in his own mission, Hagoromo's successor will finally be revealed in the next episode of Masashi Kishimoto's hit anime series Unfortunately, it seems that the Sage of Six Path's other son will not take his father's decision that easily.

In the Reddit forums, several "Naruto Shippuden" fans weighed in on the next episode's possible outcome. As reported by Yibada, Hagoromo's son who will lose in the race towards the Ninshu clan leadership is going to raise hell as he believes that he is the far worthier successor. For those who have already read the original "Naruto" manga series, they would know that it was Indra who will lose to Ashura, and the latter will be declared by his father as the rightful leader of Ninshu. Being extremely bitter, Indra would challenge his own brother to a bloody fight that lasted for several generations. It appears that Episode 468 will finally show Indra going to the dark side as he succumbs to jealousy and insecurity. Indra's hatred is also fueled by the manipulations of Kaguya's will, the Black Zetsu, who saw the potential in Indra to release the Sage of Six Path's mother from the powerful seal.

Meanwhile, forum members at the Naruto Wikia page have begun speculating about the anime series' finale. So far, "Naruto Shippuden" has just entered the Kaguya arc of the original manga series. However, in between the canon episodes, the series have inserted several filler chapters. The past few episodes are not canon to "Naruto" manga series, although they explain the background story of the series' mysterious characters like Kaguya and the Sage of Six Paths. If the filler episodes keep up, it is possible that "Naruto Shippuden" might have its finale in the early part in 2017 instead.
