'Narcos' season 2 release date, plot spoilers: Pablo Escobar's brother demands to review new season, EP shares on Pablo Escobar's shootout scene

The upcoming sophomore season of "Narcos" airs next month, and fans may be wondering what lies ahead for the story when Pablo Escobar meets his fate. The critically-acclaimed Netflix series is one of the much-hyped shows to premiere this year, but before it arrives, Pablo Escobar's brother reportedly wants to review everything first.
According to TMZ, Pablo's elder brother Roberto Escobar sent the streaming company a letter as a "formal, friendly request" to allow him to review the series "solely on an informational basis." The former accountant for the notorious Medellin Cartel who has the nickname "El Osito" said that the pilot season was riddled with factual inaccuracies, adding that if Pablo is still alive, he will not approve of it at all. Aside from reviewing "Narcos," Escobar also asks for a share of the show's profits. Escobar wrote the letter in an undisclosed area in Colombia and it bears the Escobar family seal.
"It is depicting me, my life, my family and my brother," Escobar stated in a press statement released by Escobar Inc., the company he built two years ago. "I think nobody else in the world is alive to determine the validity of the materials, but me."
On another note, executive producer Eric Newman hints that they plan to depict the drug kingpin's death as close to reality as possible. "Escobar had a photographer who was with him and there are incredible photos taken by DEA agent Steve Murphy at the time of his death," he told Agence France Presse. "We've recreated the actual death scenario based on those pictures so it's as close as we can be."
It remains to be seen how the story will continue without its main character, but there is a possibility that the show will have an anthology format. An ensemble cast might also be introduced, but Netflix has yet to announce their future plans for the hit series.
