'Mr. Robot' season 3 premiere date, spoilers: Elliot takes a stand against Dark Army? Leon's storyline explored
The return of "Mr. Robot" for its season 3 is still months from now but fans have already been treated with spoilers about what to expect in the upcoming season.
According to reports, show creator Sam Esmail teased that Rami Malek's character Elliot Alderson is going to be a completely different person in the third installment. He said that fans will see a redefined version of the character. If they have seen him as only naïve and clueless in the first season, he is going to be better in the upcoming run.
"Season three, and the way I've been thinking about it, is sort of the return to Elliot — but not the naive Elliot we saw at the beginning of the season," Esmail said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. "It's the Elliot we've seen go through this horrific experience from the first and second seasons, and with all of that in mind, that's going to make this new Elliot come to fruition in the next season," he added.
Esmail's clue is vague for now but it seems like Elliot may be taking a stand against the Dark Army in season 3. Esmail also mentioned that the new season would see the "return of Elliot." Fans are also curious as to what will happen next to Angela Moss (Portia Doubleday) as well as Tyrell Wellick (Martin Wallstrom).
The season 2 finale episode closed with a big cliffhanger involving Leon. He left off with a question, asking Shama Biswas or Trenton (Sunita Mani) and Sunil Markesh or Mobley (Azhar Khan) if they have time. Fans are curious what Leon is up to but they will have to stay tuned to find out. Esmail teased during the New York Comic Con that Leon is certainly one of the characters that many should look out for. He played a very big role in Elliot's life but he brings a lot of history.
"Mr. Robot" season 3 will premiere sometime in 2017 on USA Network.
