Critically-acclaimed suspense drama "Mr. Robot" is definitely one of this year's most-anticipated shows, and viewers can expect a "darker" season 2 once it returns to the small screen.

Variety caught up with NBC's Universal Cable Entertainment chief content officer Jeff Wachtel where he shared an interesting detail about season 2. According to Wachtel, they recently shot a virtual reality scene for the show which fans should look forward to. "It's really about storytelling. It's intimate and about the characters," he hinted during the publication's annual TV Summit. He did not give away more details, but it surely is an effort on their side to give viewers more reasons to keep tuning in.

As an effort to promote the upcoming season, a concept store in New York City called Story was recently flipped into a "Mr. Robot-" themed shop which runs until July 24. It can be found in 144 10th Ave. at 19th Street, and fans can visit the place to buy all sorts of series merchandise. The best thing about the space is a fully-functioning "Evil Corp" ATM at the storefront, and if someone "hacks" or guesses the code correctly, the machine will dispense real $50 bills. The Verge notes that clues are scattered all over the shop, but it will likely change often to challenge customers.

Show creator Sam Esmail previously shared his perspective on how he approached season 2, giving fans an idea of what's to come when the show arrives next month. "I am so very specific in how I want to shoot the show and the visual grammar of how I want to tell the story," he said. "It's nothing against our directors in the first season because they were all great to work with. For me, it feels like it would be easier to manage day to day. I'm on the set every day anyway, and I just think it would make the whole show be more efficient."

"Mr. Robot" premieres July 13 at 10 p.m. EST on USA.
