Motorola Moto G5, Moto G5 Plus specs & features rumors: Alleged leaked photos fake; what specs will the device offer?
News about the anticipated Motorola G5 and G5 Plus remains elusive.

Last week, many media outlets picked up the news about the alleged leaked photos of the G5 and G5 Plus. The leaked images, which was first posted by The Android Soul, also came with supposed specs and features as well as a release date — March 8. Many commented that the design and features were very similar to those of their predecessors — the Moto G4 and G4 Plus.
It turned out, however, that the news was fake, as The Android Soul, later on, acknowledged as an update to the article. The supposed leaked photos turned out to be modified versions of actual images of the Moto G4 and G4 Plus, after all.
In the absence of any announcement from Motorola, many turn to the rumor mill for any idea on what the Moto G5 series will offer.
Based on speculations, Moto G5 will run on Android 7.1 out of the box with 16 GB internal storage. Many expect it to come with a 5.5-inch screen, 13-megapixel main camera, and a 5-megapixel selfie shooter.
The Moto G5 Plus, rumors say, will likewise use Android 7.1 plus an Octa-core SOC to power it. It will also sport a 5.5-inch display and 5-megapixel secondary camera, but its main snapper will have 16 megapixels. There are speculations that the Moto G5 Plus will be available in 16 GB and 32 GB storage variants.
All these, however, are purely based on rumors, and Motorola has yet to confirm or debunk any of these.
Meanwhile, users of the Moto G4 Series, composed of Moto G4, Moto G4 Plus, and Moto G4 Play, are looking forward to receiving the Android 7.0 Nougat update anytime soon.
Last Dec. 6, Motorola Deutschland took to Twitter to confirm that Android 7.0 Nougat is on track to come to the Moto G4 and Moto Play before Christmas. The release schedule of the much-anticipated operating system (OS) for Motorola phones was announced last October on The Official Motorola Blog. Moto Z Play, Moto X Series, and Nexus 6 will also receive the update until early 2017.
