Motorola Droid Turbo vs Moto X 2014 Comparison: Review of Specs and Features

The Motorola Droid Turbo and the Moto X (2014) are arguably the best smartphones to come out from the company's stable this year. They are closely matched in terms of specs but the Droid Turbo has made improvements over its rival in some areas.
Starting with design, the Moto X, which was released this year, sports great design elements such as a slightly curved back which allows it to be easily held.
On the other hand, the Droid Turbo is thicker due to its bigger battery. Its back is made of plastic and has less curvature.
Comparing displays, the Droid Turbo has a slight edge as it has a 5.2-inch screen with 1440 x 2560 pixels which provides a pixel density of 565 pixels per inch. The Moto X also has a 5.2-inch screen but it has lower 1080 x 1920 pixels, which means its screen has a lower density of 424 pixels per inch.
However, when it comes to specs, the Droid Turbo leads over the Moto X (2014) as it has a terrific hardware including 3 GB of RAM. At its core is a 32-bit Snapdragon 805 processor coupled with a Quad-core 2.7 GHz Krait 450 CPU. In addition it has the Adreno 420 600 MHz GPU.
The Moto X, on the other hand, has the older Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset coupled with a Quad-core 2.5 GHz Krait 400 CPU and Adreno 330 GPU.
The cameras on the phones show that Motorola went all out when designing the Droid Turbo as it has a 21-megapixel camera at the back along with auto focus and a dual-LED flash. The Moto X has a meager 13-megapixel camera with autofocus and dual-LED flash.
Finally whereas the Moto X could not last through a whole day of steady use without recharging, the Droid Turbo has no such problem as it has a superior 3,900 mAh battery.
