Moto X 2016 release imminent as older smartphone models get hefty discount on Amazon

If the current price cuts for the present Moto X smartphones are any indication, the arrival of the latest Moto X 2016 model may be a little sooner than expected. According to the reports, two older smartphone models with the Motorola brand have been placed on sale with the offering price being incredibly affordable.
Amazon is reportedly selling the 2015 Moto X smartphone for only $299. Meanwhile, the older Moto X2 model is being sold at a closed price of $150, and that already includes the shipping fees. While there is no news explaining the price dip of these Motorola smartphones, the only probable reason for now is the anticipated arrival of the newer Moto X models. While one can expect that the Moto X 2016 will be released sometime this year, the recent Moto X discounts may suggest that it will no longer take months before it finally arrives.
The $299 Amazon listing is specifically for the 16GB Moto X 2015 Pure Edition that sports a 5.7-inch display with Quad HD resolution. The camera feature is not bad with 21 MP rear camera shooter and its battery life is sustained by TurboPower, allowing the user to charge the phone quickly and ensuring that the battery capacity will last throughout the day.
On the other hand, the Moto X2 on sale for $150 is somehow the same as its successor model. The specs of the smartphone are already impressive with a bonus feature of waterproofing protection.
Meanwhile, the anticipated Moto X 2016 model is expected to boast a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with Shattershield protection, GSM Arena reported. One variant of the Moto X 2016 will likely use Snapdragon 820 as its processor with 4 GB worth of RAM. Also, the new Moto X designs will look more flat due to the new metal chassis.
There are rumors that Lenovo will release the Moto X 2016 line as early as June 9, and there will be two variants of the new smartphone model to choose from. The Moto X 2016 variants will be known as Vector and Vertex.
