'Mortal Kombat X' patch latest news & update: New patch reveals more skins and character fixes

NetherRealm Studios launched the latest patch for "Mortal Kombat X" last Tuesday, Oct. 4. The update included a set of skins, settings and new character fixes. Creator Ed Book said the recent changes create a fun and balanced experience.
Reports said that NetherRealm announced during a stream that in-game items that were only playable in the mobile game have now been made available for all players of different platforms. Players can get all the in-game items for free by simply connecting to the WBID account and waiting for the skins to unlock.
With the new patch, the developers changed a few elements in the game, such as the characters' run, air attacks, wake-up attacks and armor. In terms of running, the studio has increased the cost of energy. If it used to cost 15 energy points to break into a run, it now takes 25 energy points to do so. Furthermore, the studio added additional damage points if players get attacked when running. Gamers who get hit will lose 50 energy points.
A new air attack gameplay was also introduced with the patch. If a character's hitbox and hurtbox used to increase in size simultaneously, players now won't enjoy the same feature. Now, the player who is able to land a hit before the opponent gets the upper hand. With the new patch, the hurbox gets bigger one frame earlier than the hitbox, thus enabling players to be hit before they can retaliate.
Moreover, the developers added a Kounter message whenever a player lands a hit as a counterattack or punish. Players no longer activate the Delayed Wakeup by holding down or simply pressing the block button. The studio also reduced the victim blockstun and the attacker block recover for multiple moves.
A plethora of character fixes also came along with the latest patch, which players can explore after downloading it. Gamers can also check the Warner Bros. community page to see the list of updates on the various characters.
