Kombat Pack 3 is the much-anticipated expansion for "Mortal Kombat X," and there are speculations that it might be in the works after a recent tweet from the game's co-creator Ed Boon.

Since "Mortal Kombat X" was released back in 2015, two Kombat Packs for the title have been launched. Each Kombat Pack included four new playable characters, introducing 8 new characters in total. However, players are still seeking for future improvements in the game, and they have been waiting for the creators to launch Kombat Pack 3 since the first two DLCs arrived.

As GameZone pointed out, Ed Boon, the co-creator of "Mortal Kombat X," teased the expecting fans yet again by posting a meme through his Twitter account. Although the post shows it was just made for fun, the media outlet points out that there is a huge possibility that "Mortal Kombat X" Kombat Pack 3 will soon be developed. Rumor has it that the game will have other versions, including a "Mortal Kombat XL."

On the other hand, some reports also claim that Kombat Pack 3 might have a later release date due to NetherRealm Studios' other projects. The developers are said to be currently working on "Injustice 2," which is believed to be released first before the "Mortal Kombat X" expansion pack.

Way back in May, Boon initially teased the latest DLC pack through a Twitter poll, where he asked fans what they wanted to see next from the game. Kombat Pack 3 became the most popular answer, but no new update has been released since then. Through another Twitter poll, Boon mentioned the elusive expansion again, though this poll was for the Xbox One S. Again, Kombat Pack 3 was the top choice.

To date, it remains unclear if Boon's Twitter tease will lead to anything. If one thing is for certain, fans are still interested in getting a copy of the rumored expansion for "Mortal Kombat X."
