'Mortal Kombat X' DLC release date, news & update: DLC discounts available until Oct. 10

NetherRealm launched a new patch for the PC version of the 10th installment of the "Mortal Kombat" franchise. The latest downloadable content (DLC) launched on Oct. 3 during Kombat Kast. The DLCs are currently available at a discounted price.

Players reportedly need to pay for the Kombat X Pack 2 DLC to play the characters that have been added to the game. Despite the latest update, the patch has several issues and glitches. Players' saved data were reportedly deleted before NetherRealm could pull out the update.

The update takes up 23 GB of storage. It includes a ton of game fixes, skins, as well as multiplayer environments. Medieval skins and The Pit environment will be made available to players without any cost.

Mortal Kombat X is currently available on Steam for $30. Players can get the Kombat Pack 1 DLC for a discounted price at $4.99, which includes Tremor, MK4's Tanya Predator and Jason Voorhees. The second pack is also available at a discounted price of $9.99, and it consists of Triborg, Bo'Rai Cho, Leatherface and Xenomoreph. The DLC sale is only available for a limited time and ends on Monday, Oct. 10.

A "Mortal Kombat XL" edition is also available and it consists of the 10th title and the two patches that have been released. The edition currently costs $40.

Recent speculations suggested that Pack 3 will showcase new players such as Noob Saibot, Baraka, Fujin, Sindel, Rain and Shao Kahn.

In the third pack, characters will have new skills. Bo Rai Cho's staff will reportedly have a new ability, which will allow the character to throw weapons by spinning the staff. Kitana will have a revamped Assassin Buff and Raided, with additional armor stats. Meanwhile, Shinnok will have a dash cancel move that will cancel his Judgment Fist and Smash Moves.
