Top-rating comedy series "Modern Family" concluded its seventh season last Wednesday, and new episodes for season 8 can't come soon enough.

Details about the plot for season 8 remains to be seen, after all, the show does not follow a continuous storyline. Since the kids are growing up so quickly, there are speculations that the story will shed light on more milestones in their lives. Actress Julie Bowen saw the kids mature along with the series, and she praised the young actors and actresses who have greatly contributed to the show's success. "We got lucky with the kids," Bowen stated. "You never know what kind of actor they might grow into, but we've been so fortunate to be able to write to their strengths. They're by no means just supporting cast."

The show has been airing for seven years now, and like any other long-running series, an end might be in sight. But when will that time come?  "I think my personal goal at this point would be 10 seasons," said showrunner Steve Levitan in an interview. "I don't know if it's attainable or not; I think we'll have to look at it every year, and if we feel like we're just running out of things to say then it will be time to make that tough call."

Co-creator Christopher Lloyd also weighed in on the show's fate, saying that there are still a lot of stories to tell when it comes to the characters and ending the show this early is far from happening. "When we sat down in May last year, we had nothing," Lloyd said. "But we still delivered 22 stories—which took these characters to new places—without too much of a struggle. It tells me there's a lot of life left."

As of now, the network has yet to announce an official release date for "Modern Family" season 8, but the series will likely return sometime around Fall of this year.
