'Modern Family' season 8 episode 4 spoilers: Nathan Fillion guest stars in new ep

The fourth episode of "Modern Family" season 8 will feature "Castle" alum Nathan Fillion, who will portray the local weatherman Rainer Shine. The upcoming episode is titled "Weathering Heights."

In episode 4, Phil (Ty Burrell) will be invited to the real-estate segment in the local news. On the same day, he gets to meet his favorite weatherman, Rainer Shine. A few of the production photos for the episode revealed that his daughter Haley (Sarah Hyland) tagged along with him on the set. Though Phil is excited about meaning Shine, he will regret introducing him to his eldest daughter.

The synopsis also revealed that Jay (Ed O'Neill) will be urging Manny (Rico Rodriguez) to add a few elements into his video application to make it more interesting.

To recap, Jay attempted to convince Luke (Nolan Gould) to drop out of the race for school president because he wanted his stepson Manny to win. Reports said that Jay and Gloria's (Sofia Vergara) efforts will be in vain since Luke will be elected president.

Joining guest star Nathan Fillion in episode 4 are Winston Duke, who will portray a college football player named Dwight, and Jamie Moyer, who will portray Mrs. Pasternack.

Cam (Eric Stonestreet) and Mitchell (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) will be inviting Dwight to live in their apartment for the meantime. Lily (Aubrey Anderson-Emmons), on the other hand, won't be too happy about the new setup.

As seen in the previous episode, she was unable to finish her breakfast because the football player ate all her cereal. Though her dads plan on keeping Dwight because of the wonderful praises they have been receiving from school, Lily will be plotting to kick him out of the house. The synopsis didn't reveal Lily's plans.
