Mizzou President Quotes Bible Before Stepping Down Amid University Racism Allegations

The president of the University of Missouri reportedly quoted part of the Bible this week before announcing his resignation among allegations of racism on campus.
University of Missouri President Timothy M. Wolfe announced he would be resigning from his post after the university faced mounting criticism of racism on campus that was not being acknowledged by university administrators.
Shortly before Wolfe's resignation, graduate student Jonathan Butler ended a week-long hunger strike meant as a form of protest again racist allegations and Wolfe's continued position is president of the university.
An emotional Wolfe quote Psalm 46:1 during his resignation speech, saying he hopes his dismissal from the college may serve as an impetus for change at the university.
"I am resigning as president of the University Missouri system. My motivation in making this decision comes from a love of Columbia where I grew up and the state of Missouri. I have thought and prayed over this decision. It is the right thing to do," the president said.
"The frustration and anger I see is real," he continued, "and I don't doubt it for a second."
"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble," Wolfe added when referencing Psalm 46:1 during his speech.
As protesters continue to gather on university grounds to call for change to campus policies regarding racism, campus police announced on Wednesday that they had arrested a 19-year-old for making online threats against African American students on campus.
The suspect, who is not a student at the university, had reportedly claimed that he was going to carry out a shooting of all African American students on campus on Wednesday. Police say he was arrested before being physically present on campus.
