'Mission: Impossible 6' release date, cast news: Henry Cavill joins cast

"Mission: Impossible 6" director Christopher McQuarrie has recently announced that Henry Cavill, who is best known for playing DC Comics superhero Superman, has joined the cast of the upcoming movie.
The casting was done over an Instagram banter between the two, with the director first messaging the actor, opening with: "Had a thought. Curious if you're interested in a role in the 6th installment of Mission: Impossible. No pressure."
McQuarrie then confirmed Cavill's involvement in the project in a final message, written in the style of "Mission: Impossible." It said: "Welcome aboard. Your social media account will self destruct in 5 seconds."
As of the moment, no information about Cavill's character has been revealed. However, rumors are going around, suggesting that he will be playing the right-hand man of Tom Cruise's Ethan Hunt and not an antagonist.
In an interview with Empire, McQuarrie, who is the director of "Mission: Impossible – Rogue nation," indicated that the sixth film will take on a different path compared to its predecessors. For starters, Ethan Hunt's character will be explored more deeply. Although he has appeared — and starred in — past "Mission: Impossible" films, little is known about him other than he is a secret agent. This will change in the upcoming film. Another difference is that the film will not have a flashy opening scene, something that has become the trademark of the "Mission: Impossible" movies.
Simon Pegg and Jeremy Renner, who appeared in previous "Mission: Impossible" movies, will be reprising the roles of Benjamin "Benji" Dunn and William Brandt, respectively. Meanwhile, Rebecca Ferguson, who appeared in "Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation" as Ilsa Faust, will also be returning for the sixth film in the franchise. It is unclear if Alec Baldwin will be returning for the new project.
"Mission Impossible 6" is scheduled to premiere in July 2018. Meanwhile, Cavill be returning on the silver screen this November on "Justice League."
