'Mirror's Edge Catalyst' release date news 2016: EA DICE moves game launch to June

Electronic Arts' Digital Illusions Creative Entertainment has announced that the release date of their upcoming big game offering this year will be delayed. From the original launch date May 24, the video game is now expected to arrive in North America on June 7, while Europe can expect the game in the markets on June 9. The latest news came from an announcement posted on the game's official website.
"Mirror's Edge Catalyst" Design Director Erik Odeldahl stated on the website that delaying the releasing of the game's final version will give his team more time to improve the quality of the game and enhance its other in-game features. According to his team, the additional two weeks for the game's development are already enough to make the game much better.
While "Mirror's Edge Catalyst" will not be available until June, the closed beta version of the video game was launched on April 22. The beta testing is expected to end on April 26. The purpose of the beta testing is to report any bugs or issues that are present in the game's current state, as well as to let the chosen few with beta version submit their insights and help improve the game. Yibada reported that the registration for having the beta version was opened quickly to cater the applicants, but the company closed the registration right away in less than an hour.
Both the game's full version and the beta testing version are going to include social play features like Leaderboards, play multiplayer with other players, as well as the other special add-ons.
This year's "Mirror's Edge Catalyst" is a reboot of the original video game of the same name. The game will tell the story of the main protagonist, Faith. According to an interview of DICE Senior Producer Jeremy Miller in an interview with Gamespot, the 2016 reboot will not include guns unlike the first versions of the video game.
"Mirror's Edge Catalyst" will be released on PlayStayion 4, Xbox One, PC at $69.90 retail price.
