Mike Huckabee Says He Would Have 'God's Blessing' As 2016 President

Former Arkansas governor and Fox News host Mike Huckabee has spoken out on a possible 2016 presidential run, saying that if he were to win the political race he would have God's blessing.

While speaking to James Robinson on the Life Today program, Huckabee said that he believes he would have "God's blessing" if he won the 2016 presidential election because he is seeking to return America to a country under God.

Huckabee told Robinson that America needs to become a "God-centered nation that understands that our laws do not come from man, they come from God." Huckabee has been making the media rounds while promoting his new book "God, Guns, Grits and Gravy," 

"It's the natural law of God," Huckabee added.

The former Governor of Arkansas has also recently spoken out on his opposition to same-sex marriage, telling USA TODAY's Capital Download that he believes governors and state legislators should resist a Supreme Court decision that would make same-sex marriage constitutionally correct.

Huckabee told USA Today that if he was still governor, he would put the issue "before the legislature. I mean, we would ask, 'We have a constitutional amendment in our constitution. Do we want to hold to that? Do we want to put it before a referendum of the people?' I mean, there are a lot of different angles to pursue it. (Or) you could just surrender and say, 'OK, we just agree that the court is right.' "

Huckabee is expected to be a contender for the 2016 presidential election alongside other potential Republicans, including conservative darling Ben Carson and Kentucky Senator Rand Paul.
