Microsoft Surface Pro 5, Surface Book 2 release date, price news 2016: Hybrids could be out earlier than expected?

A lot of reports have been circulating regarding the development of Microsoft Surface Pro 5 and Surface Book 2. These reports suggest that the release of the two devices greatly depend on the upcoming Anniversary Update of Windows 10. According to Microsoft, the software will be rolled out during the summertime; however, there are rumors online saying that the Surface Pro 5 and Surface Book 2 might have an earlier release than expected.
Rumor has it that the upcoming devices will most likely be launched in June of this year; however, Microsoft insider Mary Jo Foley had already predicted that the company will not be making any releases until the Windows 10 update gets materialized. Foley said that Surface Pro 5 and Surface Book 2 will be released in 2017, CNET reported.
According to the publication, the upcoming Windows 10 Redstone 2 Update is not going to be ready for a roll out until early 2017. The report suggested that the two devices are going to showcase the features and capabilities of the software, and it is highly unlikely for Microsoft to release them with the current version of the operating system.
There are also reports suggesting that the company is actually waiting for Intel's newest development processor, which is called Kaby Lake. According to the report, the chip will not be available until late 2016 or in early months of 2017. It only makes sense that Microsoft delays the release for better things to happen. Apparently, the company would want to release both hybrid machines at their best forms to attract consumers.
Meanwhile, previous reports have already suggested that the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 will be available at a starting price of $899. On the other hand, the Surface Book 2 might have the same introductory price tag as its predecessor, which is $1250. Nonetheless, these reports have yet to be confirmed by Microsoft.
