Rumor has it that the American tech giant will launch a new smartphone that would challenge the mighty iPhone in the smartphone market.

Nobody can deny that Microsoft is the leading software developer in the world for a very long time; however, when it comes to hardware production, their releases have not been as successful as the ones from Samsung and Apple. Nevertheless, that is about to change with this new Microsoft Surface Phone.

The device is rumored to carry a 5.5-inch Quad HD AMOLED screen with a 1440x2560 resolution. According to reports, the new device will run on the latest Windows 10 operating system. The specs under the hood will be as impressive as its exterior design. The new product will be powered by an Intel Atom x3 processor, along with 6 to 8 GB of RAM for smooth multitasking.

There are also speculations that the device will come out in two variants. Fans will have the opportunity to choose between 64 GB and 128 GB models. According to some reports, the already large storage capacity of the phone will also have microSD options, which give fans more room for saving large files like movies and apps. Another rumor suggests that the smartphone may come with a whopping 500 GB storage capacity. If rumors prove to be true, this new phone will almost have the same specs as a laptop.

The price may be a disappointment for many fans, as it is speculated to come out with a tag of $999.

The Microsoft Surface Phone has not been announced yet by the company but the impressive specs are already making major news all over the Internet.
