Microsoft's upcoming Surface Phone will allegedly come in three variations. The different devices will vary in size and in terms of specs, but the main features for the smartphone are ultimately the same.
One highly anticipated phone that's expected to be unveiled within the year is the Microsoft Surface Phone. Even though Microsoft Corporation still remains tight-lipped about the upcoming smartphone, numerous reports have been circulating online, revealing the company's plans for the device.
Tech Times reports that the Surface Phone will come in three units. The news outlet revealed two different screen sizes — 5.5 and 6 inches.
The device with the smallest storage space will have 4 GB of random access memory (RAM) and 64 GB of storage. Another device will have 6 GB RAM and 128 of storage. Both of the devices are rumored to run on Intel's forthcoming Kaby Lake processor. The premium version of the unit will run with a Snapdragon 820 processor and will have 8 GB RAM and a 512 GB storage capacity. The devices will have an AMOLED display.
Rumor has it that the Microsoft Surface Phone will have a 21-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front shooter Carl Zeiss lens. All three versions of the device will have a 3,000 mAh battery. The smartphones will have a Touch Cover for a keyboard, aside from a 10-point multi-touch track pad.
According to The Country Caller, Microsoft has attained a patent for a fingerprint scanner for smartphones. The scanner will reportedly be incorporated within a transparent sheet. Furthermore, the device is expected to have significant advances in technology. The smartphones price might range from $700 to $1200.
Even though Microsoft remains mum about the subject, the news outlet reported that the company could possibly introduce the new line during one of their forthcoming events. Reports suggest that the device will be revealed within the year. It might even launch with Surface Pro 5 and Surface Book 2.
