Microsoft has been the center of several rumors and speculations circulating all over the Internet for the past months. There are reports suggesting that the American software company will launch two laptops early next year – the Surface Pro 5 and Surface Book 2. However, another report says that the company will also release a new flagship smartphone, the Microsoft Surface Phone.

New leaked information has emerged revealing several details about the highly anticipated smartphone. The leaked image was posted on a Chinese website, Baidu. It shows the design of the device and its external features including a 3.2mm headphone jack and a USB Type-C port.

The site also claimed that the flagship smartphone will come with the same 20-megapixel Carl Zeiss lens they used on the previous Lumia 950.

According to a report by The Verge, Terry Myerson, Windows CEO, says that the company will certainly launch a 4-inch screen smartphone. He adds that they are committed to its development; however, as of the moment, the company still has something to get their focus on.

Meanwhile, according to reports, the new Microsoft Surface Phone will be different from the previous Windows phones, which are currently in the market today. There are speculations suggesting that the handset may come out with a price range anywhere from $700 to $1200.

The handset will come with 4 GB of RAM and a 64 GB internal storage capacity. There will also be a higher end model, which will get 6 GB of RAM, along with its 128 GB onboard storage capacity. Both versions of the phone will come with 3000 mAh battery.

During an interview with TechBuzz, Chris Capossela, Microsoft's CMO, said that the company is doing their best to convince people that the new smartphone will be the best in the market once it hits the shelves.

"We need more breakthrough experiences, breakthrough hardware to get people to move to Windows mobile OS. It's gotta be a phone that's sort of like, 'Wow'," said Capossela.
