Apple announced its product line of Apple Watches earlier this year. The new devices are expected to be released in the spring 2015. However, Microsoft went ahead and announced the release of the Microsoft Band on Nov. 6.

Specs, Price, Purpose

Apple Watch is a customizable smartwatch that is compatible with the iPhone 6. The device has a built-in health tracking system. It also allows the user to communicate using the watch. With the high-speed necessity for connection, the Apple Watch incorporated the Digital Crown which enables that user to interact without obstructing the main screen of the watch. It also has a home button with Siri reminding the user for notifications and updates.

The new Apple Watch will have features like Timelapse, Utility, Photo, Motion, Astronomy and Solar to Modular and other personalization in the interface. According to Apple, there are over two million unique ways to customize the watch.

On the other hand, Microsoft Band is built specifically for fitness purposes.  With the gadget's health app, users may track their steps, heart rate, sleep quality and calorie burn. It also has a reminder for incoming calls, texts, emails, calendar alerts and other social updates.

The Microsoft Band has a 1.4 inch 320 x 106 touchscreen display, Bluetooth, GPS, dual 100mAh batteries (that can power the device for 48 hours of normal use), magnetic USB connector, and is dust and water-resistant.

Meanwhile, the Apple Watch will be powered by a custom-designed S1 chip. It is covered in resin to protect the device from other elements and unexpected impacts.
