Michael Schumacher health condition news: Former F1 team principal extremely hopeful of Schumacher's health

After suffering head injuries in a fatal skiing accident back in Dec. 2013, world class Formula One (F1) racing champion Michael Schumacher was put into a medically induced coma for six months. He was then transferred to his private suite in Geneva in June 2014 to continue medication and therapy, but after that, little is known as to his real progress and current health condition.
Several prior reports about his health condition were mixed, but former F1 team principal Ross Brawn recently shared in an interview with The Guardian that they are "extremely hopeful" about Schumacher's condition.
"We go see him and hope and pray that one day he will make a recovery," Brawn said. "I was quoted as saying he's improving and it was not what I really meant. The family are conducting his convalescence in private and I need to respect that. So I don't want to comment on his condition beyond saying we're extremely hopeful we'll see Michael as we knew him at some point in the future."
Schumacher's family previously requested for privacy during their difficult time, and even sued a German publication in October for reporting fake news about the racing champion's health condition.
The report claimed that Schumacher can now walk without assistance, but the family confirmed that the report was however untrue. "Such speculation is irresponsible, because given the seriousness of his injuries, his privacy is very important for Michael," Sabine Kehm, the racer's representative said.
However, despite staying hopeful, Brawn is still in shock about Schumacher's condition, especially that he had known the driver to be someone of strength. "It was terribly traumatic for the family — and shocking for us. Michael was such a strong character and all through his racing career he only suffered a broken leg. The irony of this happening during a quieter life was terrible," he said.
Many fans are also fervently hoping that Schumacher recovers in due time, and that official update about his health will be known soon enough.
