Gamers may have to wait a little bit longer for the most-awaited release of "Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain." All their anticipation may not be in vain after screenshots of Snake's growing horn have been revealed by video game designer Hideo Kojima.

Snake's "horn" appears to be growing in the screenshots, GamingBolt.com reported on Sunday.

"Okay, now no more bandages but the horns got grown?!" Kojima said in a post on Twitter accompanying one screenshot.

Another treat for Metal Gear Solid fans: Snake can take a shower using a new feature that players can use.

"Kojima has confirmed this is a gameplay feature and Snake can wash off the blood by taking a shower in the game... So unlike other games, the blood won't just fade away magically in The Phantom Pain," said GamingBolt.com.

In another update, Square Enix Products has revealed the identity of Man on Fire, who was showcased during the Game Developers Conference 2013.

In an image emailed to GamingBolt.com, Man on Fire was confirmed to be Volgin by Square Enix, which handles the Kai Arts figurine business and, apparently, the creation of figurines for the characters in "Metal Gear Solid 5."

Having a figurine of Volgin made may be a sign that he has a role in "The Phantom Pain," as observed by the gaming review: "Another interesting point to be noted is that they actually decided to make a figurine out of him indicating that Volgin possibly has a major role in the game.

Spoiler alert: Volgin was killed by Snake in "Metal Gear Solid 3," but this won't be the first time that a dead character is coming back. After all, "The Phantom Pain" will deal with phantoms. However, you may take this information with a grain of salt unless you hear it directly from Konami.

"Metal Gear Solid 5" has yet to have a release date, but it has been confirmed that it will be coming out this year on almost all major platforms such as PS4, Xbox One, PC as well as PS3 and Xbox 360.

GamingBolt previously speculated that the game might be released anytime from April to June, given that the games listed in Konami's fiscal report do not go beyond spring of this year.
