BioWare still has not revealed an exact date for the launching of "Mass Effect: Andromeda." The developers have remained mum about the date, but the title is expected to launch in the first quarter of 2017.

The game was announced in 2015, and was initially slated for release in late 2016. Earlier this year, though, EA Chief Financial Officer Blake Jorgensen announced that the launch date has been pushed back.

BioWare's upcoming action role-playing third-person shooter video game "Mass Effect: Andromeda" is a new title for the franchise; however, it will not be a sequel for the preceding games.

Commander Shepard will no longer be the main character in the upcoming title. EA previously revealed that the new lead character will be named Ryder. More importantly, players will be able to play the main character either as a male or female.

Bioware creative director Mac Walters recently answered a fan's inquiry on Twitter regarding the characters' default name. The fan asked if the developers will be making an announcement regarding the players' ability to change Ryder's name (for both male and female).

Walters revealed that like the previous titles of the franchise, players will be able to customize their characters' name. The creative director replied in a tweet, "Yes. And... You will be able to change the name as per the trilogy."

Furthermore, reports say that the RPG game will be featuring a locomotion system from a different title which is expected to release in February 2017. The game's locomotion system will be similar to Ubisoft's "For Honor," sources say.

The video game will have 4K visuals. It will feature crisper visuals, high dynamic range lighting, and HDR10 support for Dolby Vision for PCs.

"Mass Effect: Andromeda" will be launched in March 2017 for PCs, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
