Chmerkovskiy made headlines last year when he and Davis won the 18th season of "Dancing with the Stars." Aside from their excellent dance moves, one of the things that was remarkable with Chmerkovskiy and Davis was their undeniable chemistry.

Throughout the season being partners, Chmerkovskiy and Davis were faced with continued rumors that they were dating.

In a recent interview, Chmerkovskiy claimed that Davis is just a close friend, and that the pair have never been in a relationship.

"I was a dancing pro on the show for about a decade, and I needed the trophy to show for it. But Meryl was part of that," he said

He admitted, however, that Davis is an important part of his life.

"And while I am doing other things, Meryl is a close friend and has become very important in my life. We have new projects together."

Chmerkovskiy also revealed that after being in a dancing show for a decade, he is now busy studying to become an actor, designing jewelry, and expanding his dance studios.

Chmerkovskiy has also been rumored to be in a relationship with "Let's Get Loud" singer Jennifer Lopez.

"I am a hopeless romantic who falls in lust and gets in trouble. I love my work and am very productive, yet I always find time to play," he admits.

When asked about Lopez specifically, however, the dancer just smiled and did not reveal too much.

"Yes, she's great, I have fun," Chmerkovskiy said without offering any further details.

There were rumors that Chmerkovskiy would end up being a judge on the show after his stint as a professional dancer. When that did not happen, fans of the dancer were disappointed.

When asked about the possibility of returning to the show, Chmerkovskiy said only time will tell.

"I still watch the show, because it is part of me and will be 50 years from now," he said.

"Winning was a huge portion of a big chunk of my life. I am not sure if I will return or in what capacity. Time will tell," added the dancer.
