'Major Crimes' season 5 spoilers and updates: Sharon and Andy to face 'practical challenges,' Rusty reacts to his mother's pregnancy

One of TNT's most-watched shows, "Major Crimes" premiered its season 5 yesterday, with 12 more episodes left to see the Major Crimes Division squad probe on various cases, all while finding balance in their personal lives.
The fifth season kicked off with an episode featuring the team as it investigated on a young teenage girl's disappearance, and it led it to an unexpected family connection. Meanwhile, Rusty had issues with Gus, Andy thought about moving and Buzz continued to look into the killing of his uncle and father.
According to series creator James Duff, this season's main theme is balance, and if there is anyone in the cast who needs it more than ever, it would be Buzz. Following the death of his father and uncle, Buzz really has a lot to deal with this season. Duff also hinted that Sharon will also find herself in some sort of difficulty. "I would also say that, as the season progresses, Sharon ends up having a great deal on her plate in terms of where the eventual power lies inside the department," he told TV Line. "I can't say more than that on that issue, but she does end up with sort of a big problem."
It remains to be seen what kind of trouble the division head will be facing, but in terms of her romantic life, there might be some complications between her and Andy. "They've settled into a nice groove, but there will be practical hiccups. Not emotional hiccups. There will be challenges. Practical challenges," the series creator added.
Next episode will also see the return of Rusty's mother who turns out to be four-and-a-half months pregnant. Duff noted that Rusty had strong opinions about it, and they will have to "sort those opinions out" in episode 2.
On another note, the official synopsis for next Monday's episode "N.S.F.W." reads:
"The murder of a detective in the Sex Crimes unit leads Major Crimes into the world of "barely legal" porn, where they find rampant drug use and questionable ethics. Meanwhile, Rusty's biological mother, Sharon Beck (Ever Carradine) returns with some surprising news."
Keep tuning in to "Major Crimes" season 5 which airs every Monday night at 10 p.m. EST on TNT.
