"Mafia III" is just a month away from its much-anticipated release, and new details on the upcoming downloadable content (DLC) expansion packs have been revealed by 2K Games.

First is the "Free recurring content," which offers free stuff for gamers. The DLC contains a gold weapons pack which can be used 30 days after launch, various new outfits to change the look of a character, more vehicle customisation options, entry into races that rewards players with money and a lot more.

Additionally, three story expansions will be available for players, which are available individually or as part of the season pass, Collector's and Deluxe edition.

"Faster, Baby!" features Lincoln teaming up with an old flame named Roxy Laveau. Their mission is to hunt down a corrupt sheriff terrorizing civil rights activists in New Bordeaux. For the uninitiated, New Bordeaux is a re-imagined New Orleans set in the late 1960s.

"Sign of the Times" involves a darker theme, since it centers on Father James asking Lincoln for help in probing ritualistic murders. The protagonist must find the cultists responsible for the brutal killings and take them down.

"Stones Unturned" focuses on Lincoln's background as a soldier during the Vietnam conflict. He joins CIA agent John Donovan in the quest and they must work together to settle a blood feud which began in the jungles of southeast Asia.

All three story expansions will be accessible under the game's season pass which is already included in the deluxe edition priced at $79.99. It is also sold separately, with the season pass priced at $29.99 and the three expansions with a price tag of $39.97.

Meanwhile, a new trailer for the game was recently released and it showcases one of the activities gamers can explore in the fictional city of New Bordeaux. The latest clip highlights mob rackets and how Lincoln and his friends can dismantle them. Similar to the game itself, the trailer is presented as a pseudo-interview.

Mafia III will be available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One on Oct. 7.
