MacBook Pro 2016 release date, specs rumors: Fall release not likely to happen
It has been highly speculated by tech enthusiasts and spectators that the next iteration of MacBook Pro will arrive this year, with the most probable date of release sometime in Fall. However, according to the latest rumors, the Mac fans may have to wait a little longer as there are many indications pointing to a 2017 release of the new Macbook Pro instead.

According to reports, it is now likely that the next MacBook Pro model will be released in April next year. One of the main reasons for this is the usual April schedule of launching of the MacBook devices. In fact, Apple has already released the updated version of 12-inch MacBook model, and the new MacBook Pro was not even mentioned. Instead of 2016, the new MacBook Pro may arrive in April 2017.
It is also possible that the Cupertino-based tech giant would not want the anticipated release of iPad Pro 2 to be overshadowed by the MacBook Pro 2016. Therefore, to keep the spotlight on the next iPad Pro, Apple may need to postpone to supposed unveiling of the new MacBook Pro this year. Aside from the iPad Pro 2, Apple is also reported to release other huge devices such as the iPhone 7, Apple Watch 2, iPad Air 3 and iPad Mini 5. These are all expected to be released in September, and the Fall 2016 release date window is already too crowded for the new MacBook Pro.
So far, the rumored specs of the next MacBook Pro are quite impressive. It is rumored to sport an OLED touch bar for a more classic appearance and efficient use. It is also expected to be powered by Intel's next generation of chipset called the Kaby Lake processor. However, these features would also cause further delay of the next MacPro's release, as the OLED touch feature requires more time to be developed and the Kaby Lake chipsets are not expected to be released until late 2016 or early 2017.
There are also rumors that the new MacBook Pro will be including the Touch ID function, as Apple has already announced that the future MacBook laptops will be running on the new Mac operating system called the MacOS Sierra. The new features of this new MacOS include a fingerprint sensor technology, thus raising the possibility that the new Macbook Pro model will be sporting a fingerprint reader. The biometric features of Macbook Pro 2016 are said to work perfectly with the Touch ID mechanism already featured by the latest iPhone and iPad models.
