MacBook Pro 2016 release date, specs news: Launching earlier than expected?
Apple has yet to confirm the development of the rumored MacBook Pro 2016, much less its release date. However, people are already talking about the upcoming laptop as one of the biggest releases of Apple this year.
According to reports, the device may finally arrive in September, along with several Apple devices including the highly anticipated iPhone 7. Although not confirmed, there are speculations that the Cupertino-based company will hold an event in September to launch multiple iterations.
Previous reports suggest that the new MacBook Pro 2016 will replace the popular MacBook Air as the new flagship laptop of the company. If rumors prove to be true, the device will become the new face of Apple's future laptop releases.
According to Wccftech, Apple is currently experiencing a dip in sales this year because people don't want to buy a new laptop from them since fans are waiting for the MacBook Pro 2016 to come out. Apparently, Apple is starting to consider releasing the new laptop earlier than expected to improve sales before the year ends.
Meanwhile, although Apple has yet to provide concrete details with regard to the device's development, rumors about its specs and features have already hit the rumor mill.
According to reports, the new laptop will sport a new OLED display touch bar and a Touch ID support. Rumor has it that the OLED display touch bar will replace the basic function keys found right above the keyboard.
Previous reports have already stated that the device will come in two versions – one with a 13-inch display and a bigger model with 15-inch display.
Other features of the device will include the Thunderbolt 3 and USB Type-C ports.
The MacBook Pro 2016 is expected to run on a Kaby Lake processor; however, the hardware unit will not be available until late this year. If Apple could not secure the powerful processor, the laptop will instead use the current Skylake chipset from Intel.
