MacBook Pro 2016 release date, specs: New MacBook Pro won't have a headphone jack, release in Q4 2016?

MacBook Pro fans were disappointed when the highly anticipated MacBook Pro 2016 was a no-show during Apple's March event and again during the company's WWDC in June. Still, fans of Apple's popular laptop are hopeful that the MacBook Pro's new iteration will come out later this year.
Because the MacBook Pro lineup was last updated in 2015, analysts are now saying that it won't be long before Apple fans lay their eyes on an overhauled MacBook Pro 2016. DigiTimes has pegged the new MacBook Pro's launch date at the back half of the year, specifically during the fourth quarter.
DigiTimes also reported that the new MacBook Pro could come with special new hinges manufactured by Amphenol, the company that also makes the hinges for Microsoft's hybrid tablets.
But the latest rumor regarding the MacBook Pro 2016's specs is that the new laptop will be without a 3.5mm headphone jack, which has so far been the standard for laptops, netbooks, and other devices.
According to Macworld UK, Apple is trying to move consumers on from wired headphones. The first step in doing this is killing off the 3.5mm headphone jack from its entire hardware lineup, including its Macs, laptops, and iPads. The MacBook Pro 2016 will reportedly be the first from Apple's laptop range to be without a headphone jack.
Apple blogger John Gruber even speculated that Apple intentionally delayed the announcement of the MacBook Pro 2016 because the company wanted to first introduce the iPhone 7, which will allegedly have a Lightning port in lieu of a headphone jack.
There have also been reports about the MacBook Pro 2016 possibly getting impressive new features, with a detachable touchscreen and a touchscreen keyboard the most talked-about potential upgrades.
In June, 9to5Mac reported on the new MacBook Pro getting an OLED touch bar with virtualized buttons. The news came from the French website MacGeneration, which reported on alleged references in macOS Sierra to biometric input device taps.
There have been reports as well suggesting that the MacBook Pro 2016 will have four USB Type-C ports and that the new laptops will come in gold, space gray, and rose gold.
Apple has not announced the official release date for the MacBook Pro 2016.
