Macbook Air to be replaced by 'ultrathin' Macbook Pros?

There have been rumors going around that Apple will stop producing the Macbook Air and will instead focus on improving the Macbook Pro.
In its event last March 21, Apple announced a new iPad Pro, iPhone SE, and Apple Watch updates. However, there were no announcements about the release of the new Macbook line up for 2016. Mac users all over the world have been left wondering, as the last update for the Macbook Air and Pro models were last updated in 2015.
As expected, Apple fans have been highly anticipating the release of the new Macbook lineup for 2016. It is expected that there will be lots of upgrades and changes to the line of MacBooks that will be released this year. There has been no announcement yet if the Macbook 2016 lineup will be branded as bigger versions of the Retina MacBook or as the replacement of the Macbook Pros.
These powerful and ultra-thin MacBooks are speculated to have a new hinge design and new connectivity ports. According to Digitimes, the new hinges will be supplied to Apple by Amphenol, which claims to be the producer the thinnest hinges in the world. The company is also a hinge supplier of Microsoft for its Surface Pro.
It has also been speculated that the new Ultra-thin Macbooks will have Thunderbolt 3 with USB-C ports on both sides of the laptop. Aside from that, the new Macbook is said to have faster Skylake processors.
It has also been rumoured that the new ultra-thin Macbooks will be available in 13-inch and 15-inch variants, but it has not yet been confirmed by the company as well.
Although it has been rumoured that Apple will unveil its new Macbook line up at the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June, there has been no official announcement yet from the company on when the new models will be released.
