MacBook Air release date, specs news update: MacBook Pro to replace MacBook Air as company's flagship laptop?
The fate of the MacBook Air series has been a subject of numerous rumors and speculations all over the Internet. There have been reports suggesting that Apple will no longer be producing another model of the MacBook Air line.

According to reports, the Cupertino-based company will concentrate more on manufacturing MacBook Pro laptops and discontinue the popular MacBook Air.
In a report by Apple Insider, Ming Chi-Kuo, an Apple analyst, said that the company has already decided to replace the MacBook Air with the MacBook Pro as Apple's flagship laptops. The analyst also added that the American tech manufacturer may soon release three different laptop lines. It will be headed by the new flagship model, the MacBook Pro. The midrange laptops will be called as MacBook, while the MacBook Air will become the company's budget notebooks.
Meanwhile, there are speculations stating that Apple will release a new 13-inch MacBook Pro model this year. It is said to be just an inch bigger than the existing MacBook version. According to reports, the upcoming laptop will no longer be rolled out under the MacBook Air series as it will already be a part of the newest MacBook Pro line.
Tech observers are saying that the upcoming 13-inch MacBook Pro variant will carry impressive specs and features. Some are saying that it will possess a huge improvement from the current MacBook iteration.
Other features to be included in the MacBook Pro 2016 devices are bigger screens with Retina Display technology with an onboard Touch ID feature. There are also reports suggesting that the laptops will carry an OLED touch bar, which will be placed just above the keyboard of the device. It will also have design features as it will be slimmer and lighter compared to the previous MacBook Pro models.
For now, Apple has yet to provide significant details with regard to the MacBook Pro's development and release date.
