MacBook Air 2016 release dates, specs news update: Lighter, thinner and more powerful laptop on the way?

As the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2016 kicked off this week, fans were expecting news from Apple regarding one of its most popular laptops, the MacBook Air.

It's been already eight years since Apple released its first version, and people are eager for another new update. Yet, despite little information on the hardware, there has been speculation that a new laptop will be available later this month.

And as the WWDC is still until June 17, there is a possibility that the MacBook Air 2016 will be unveiled later this week, despite the fact that the early parts of the conference have been concentrated more on the iPhone, the iPad, the iOS 10 and the OS x 10.12.

Along with the new software improvements, there should also be new hardware to compensate, which is what the rumor mill is feeding with the MacBook Air 2016.

For example, as the current MacBook Air is still equipped with Broadwell processors, rumors suggest a possible new upgrade should be one with a Skylake variant.

While these are all mere speculations, there is a great sense of anticipation. And though there are no concrete details on the new MacBook Air release, reports say that a Q3 2016 release is in order. If that is to be believed, then a new MacBook Air is just around the corner.

Following that report, MacBook Air 2016 may be looking even more refined as a lighter, thinner and more powerful laptop may be on the way.

With other laptop lines receiving great upgrades, it is highly unlikely that the MacBook Air variant will be left behind.

Despite the fact that the current MacBook Air may still not have Retina like others, compensating by improving the other aspects of the laptop should be a priority.

Stay tuned for more updates on the possible release of the MacBook Air 2016.
