Many Apple MacBook fans were let down last month in the tech giant's "Let Us Loop You In" media event as it did not launch the most-anticipated ultra-thin laptop.Instead, the product announcements put the spotlight on the new 4-inch iPhone SE, 9.7-inch iPad Pro, and additional Apple Watch bands.

As the MacBook Air 2015 already hit its one-year market cycle, tech-savvy users assumed that a new device should come out very soon. Despite the delay, fans remain positive that a confirmed release date for MacBook Air 2016 is not far from reach.

Rumor has it that the latest MacBook Air will make its big reveal during Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) scheduled on June 13-17 this year. Also speculated to be launched in the said event is the MacBook Pro 2016.

Previous reports mentioned that the upcoming MacBook Air and MacBook Pro will have a thinner chassis and slimmer bezels. MacWorld UK also supports that assumption by saying that the upcoming devices will be super thin and ultra-light, which is already a plus for most users who want a very portable gadget. It is rumored to have the latest sixth generation Skylake processors from Intel, coupled with a Retina display. The Macbook Air will be sold in two variants: a 13-inch and a 15-inch model.

With such a long-overdue release, Apple has been under scrutiny for so long, as they show no effort to clarify any rumors concerning the MacBook Air launch. According to News Everyday, the reason behind the delay might point to technical problems.

As of the moment, Apple remains to keep the lid on any definitive details with regards to the MacBook Air 2016. Fans remain hopeful that the new additions to the MacBook line-up will be out the soonest.
