Chloe (Lauren German) tries to track down her father's murderer in the upcoming episode of Fox's mystery drama "Lucifer" season 2.
Titled "My Little Monkey," next week's episode will see Lucifer's (Tom Ellis) efforts to blend in. According to the official synopsis for episode 7, the prisoner who was convicted of killing Chloe's father is murdered. As the investigation continues, new evidence suggests he was actually framed, and the person behind the murder is still on the loose. Elsewhere, Maze (Lesley-Ann Brandt) tries to find a job, and Lucifer shadows Dan (Kevin Alejandro) in an attempt to learn how to be a "normal" person.
In the promo clip released by Fox for "Little Monkey," Linda (Rachael Harris) tells Maze that she knows Lucifer and the devil are the same person. Maze, who has been keeping Lucifer's secret since he arrived on Earth, asks Linda if he revealed his true identity to her. Linda explains that she saw Lucifer's face transform during one of their sessions.
On another note, Fox recently ordered 9 more episodes for the DC Comics-inspired drama. Season 2 will now go a full 22 episodes because of the program's good ratings performance. Given the numbers from multiple platform and DVR plays, the sophomore season is reportedly averaging 8 million total viewers.
"'Lucifer' continues to deliver, with great blasts of dark humor and ambitious storytelling. The show has turned out to be a true wicked pleasure, the perfect companion to Gotham, and we couldn't be more pleased to order these nine additional episodes," Fox Broadcasting president David Madden said in a press statement.
Despite all the people who petitioned against the show, it seems that Fox's adaptation of the hit comic book series has impressed the network executives. In an official press release, Fox's entertainment president David Madden praised "Lucifer" for its excellent storytelling.
"We knew we had something special with Lucifer, from the engaging performances of Tom, Lauren and the rest of the charismatic cast, to Len Wiseman's visually stunning look of the show and the amazing storytelling savvy of the Bruckheimer team," he said.
