Time is running out for Nick Young and his tenure with the Los Angeles Lakers as rumors are circulating that the team is ready to part ways with the shooting guard.

Young has spent the last three seasons with the Lakers but has not helped the team move forward despite the lofty expectations set on him.

According to reports, they are still pushing for a trade but if no team wants him, they are willing to release the player.

Since his arrival in Hollywood back in the 2013-14 season, Young has averaged 13.1 points per game but has only made around 40 per cent of the attempts he has made.

Furthermore, he has not made a splash in the team and has gone to be more active on social media and outside the court than on the floor.

LA Sports Hub also claimed that Young is done with the Lakers and also believes that it is a bit overdue.

The fact that there are little to no interest in him by other teams show that he may be better off playing overseas and redeveloping himself.

In his nine-year career in the league, Young has played with the Washington Wizards, Philadelphia 76ers, and Los Angeles Clippers aside from the Lakers.

He averages 11.8 points per game, and now that he is in his 30s, he is past his prime and might have a hard time evolving any further.

Outside of his underwhelming performances, many cite Young's level of maturity as one of the biggest reasons he has not succeeded as he has maintained a high lifestyle outside the floor which serves as a distraction from him giving 100 percent to the Lakers.

He signed a four-year deal with the Lakers back in 2014 and is set to be paid around $5.4 million this season. He is also scheduled to earn around $5.6 million in the 2017-18 season where he also has a player option.
