The Los Angeles Lakers and Sacramento Kings just finished their battle in the regular season, but it appears the California teams are linked again, this time by a big trade rumor.

According to talks, the Lakers are eyeing a trade that would bring the Kings' best star to Hollywood in exchange for the young core of the squad. In particular, it appears that DeMarcus Cousins may move to Los Angeles if a deal is made that would send Jordan Clarkson and Julius Randle to Sacramento.

The two teams just finished their game where the Kings dominated most of the match-up, only for the Lakers to bounce back and get a 101-91 victory.

This battle now sees the Lakers with a 5-4 record, while the Kings drop to 4-6 and 1.5 games behind Los Angeles.

As for the trade, the Lakers are essentially trying to trade off future stars for someone who is nearing their peak at the moment. Boogie is one of the best centers and is undoubtedly one of the many stars that teams can build around.

At the moment, it is understandable that he is frustrated with the situation given that the Kings are unable to put enough around him. However, his numbers show just how good he is as he is averaging 25.8 points, 8.6 rebounds and 2.8 assists in the first nine games of the season.

Against the Lakers, Cousins led the team with 28 points, nine rebounds and four assists, but shot only 10-of-25 from the field.

On the other side, the Lakers' prospected trades Randle and Clarkson also shared in the comeback win.

Clarkson struggled with seven points, but his averages are impressive at 15.1 points and 2.4 rebounds in the first eight games of the campaign.

Meanwhile, Randle is steadily improving as he averages 14.5 points, 8.1 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game.

While the two Lakers do not have Cousins' averages, it should be tough for them to lose two bright stars in exchange for Cousins.
