Los Angeles Clippers trade rumors: Redick essential to the Clippers

With the National Basketball Association still in a break, there are still many moves that different teams may take in order to help them reach contender status in the league.
As for the Los Angeles Clippers, they are considered one of the few contenders in the Western Conference and are thought to be only a few pieces away from being able to make it to possibly lifting an NBA title.
There are many talks on targets and their superstars. Normally, the spotlight is on Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, and DeAndre Jordan.
While these players are undoubtedly important to the team, often overlooked is the importance of the Clippers' sharpshooter, J.J. Redick.
According to Fan Sided, the importance of Redick cannot be overlooked as he provides the space needed for the other superstars to operate.
Since his arrival to the Clippers back in the 2013–14 season, Redick is known for his impressive shooting. A career 45 percent shooter, Redick has stepped up in his time with the Clippers, converting 47 percent of his shots with the Clips and draining an impressive 45 percent of his shots from beyond the arc.
This ensures that defenders do not leave Redick alone around the perimeter, and it allows Paul to attack the basket while Griffin and Jordan will have room to operate from either block.
His effectiveness has resulted in some even believing that Redick should have been chosen to take part in the Rio Olympics with Team USA.
Redick's deadly shooting is perfect for the Olympics, and it would be very entertaining if he teamed up with other sharpshooters from the league to dominate the sport.
In his career, Redick averages 11.5 points per game, and while that isn't a big number, it is perfect to complement his star teammates.
And at $7.4 million for the coming season, everything he brings to the table is surely a bargain.
