As International Business Times reported, only limited information was known in the shooting of "Longmire" Season 5 as it was with Netflix's other series, although it was reported that the filming of upcoming episodes has already commenced in New Mexico. The filming reportedly began on March 23, and even though the development of the show is currently ongoing, there is no official announcement or confirmation regarding the premiere date of Season 5. If the rumors are to be believed, "Longmire" is expected to return on Netflix sometime in September with all episodes available to binge-watch.

At this early, there are some confirmed details about the additions to the "Longmire" cast. According to a report from Just Jared Jr., young actor Sterling Beaumon, known for his roles in "Lost" as young Ben Linus and "The Killing" as Lincoln, has been cast to play Andrew Prince in the upcoming fifth season. Beaumon, who also tapped the role of Seamus in the American TV miniseries "Clue," will have a recurring role in the show.

Andrew is reportedly related to Donna (played Ally Walker) and will introduce himself as the latter's son. He will be seen mysteriously exploring the house of Donna by Vic (played by Katee Sackhoff) and Walt (played by Robert Taylor), who has been romantically involved with Donna in Season 4.

The character of Donna debuted in Season 4 and was introduced as the potential love interest of Walt. Towards the end of the season, the two finally became a couple. With the arrival of a new mysterious character, it is not known whether the blooming relationship between the two will be affected.
