Fans of CBS Network's "Limitless" have been anxious for the past few weeks when rumors about the show's cancellation started to spread. Will the show really be cancelled? Recent speculations point out that Bradley Cooper might just be the show's saving grace.

The TV series is based on a 2011 film with the same title that starred Cooper. The show follows the story of a struggling musician, Brian Finch (Jake McDorman), whose cognitive abilities are enhanced after taking a miracle drug called NZT-48.

Sources say that Cooper, who is also an executive producer of the show, is currently negotiating with other networks to accommodate the show's second season.

According to reports, the series might be revived for a season 2 by Showtime. Other sources suggest that the show will be moved to CBS' sister network, The CW. Talks about the revival of the series are currently in progress. Hence, no concrete details about the second season have been revealed.

Last May, executive producer Craig Sweeney tweeted, "I'm truly sad to report that #Limitless will not continue on any platform. Thanks so much to everyone who watched."

Fans wonder what urged the showrunners to cancel it for good. The show had high ratings but this was apparently not good enough for the network's standards. For that reason, CBS severed its connection with the series.

Fans created an online petition hosted on Care 2 Petitions to express their desire for the show's renewal. As of writing time, the petition has gained 21,192 signatures. Since the goal is to collate a total of 25,000 supporters, fans needs to gain 3,808 more supporters for their petition to be heard.

Although CBS already cut ties with "Limitless," the cast is still committed to the series. Thus, if the show will be transferred to a different network, most likely the original cast members — Jake McDorman, Jennifer Carpenter, Hill Harper, and Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio — will reprise their roles in the forthcoming season.
