South Korean firm LG may have the entries of "G" as its flagship series because of its clear-cut killer specifications but when it comes to heading into fun and innovation, the company has the "V" lineup. In 2015, LG V10 was launched and it first brought the controversial secondary display right above its screen. And in 2016, LG released the acclaimed LG V20, which did not abandon the same display.

The display, despite its sometimes lack of true functionality, serves extra tasks like adding app shortcuts along with displaying the unit's time and a ticker for alarms and notifications. Furthermore, it allows users to make use of the device's main screen all the more, ultimately giving it its optimal function.

And now that LG V20 has already been released to rave reviews, it would be a matter of time when LG may decide to still go with the secondary display, whose reception has been a mixed bag for some. This time has now come, courtesy of notorious leaker Evan Blass who took his Twitter account and revealed, "Who would believe that I have early renders of the V30? Silly, right?" Which he followed with, "I will say this: adieu, ticker."

Subsequently, the rumor mills have begun circulating that LG might very well be ditching the feature in its upcoming LG V30. Blass has countered this with an interesting tweet, "Language is just so important. Found it interesting that many publications mistranslated this as "ditching the secondary display."

If Blass, a famed leakster himself, has seemingly implied that LG may not be removing the ticker after all, it would only mean one thing — the secondary display's ticker will still be appearing in LG V30. But as it sounds, the display might just be more improved and more appealing to its crowd.
