Korean tech giant LG has officially announced its intention to release the LG G5 in Canada on April 8. Reports suggest that the new handset will also hit the US market on the same date.

In February at the Mobile World Congress 2016, LG, along with Samsung and some other smartphone manufacturers, announced their upcoming releases. Fans have been waiting for the details of the release since then but none has been confirmed until its recent announcement. Followers of the LG flagship smartphone will finally get their chance to have a closers look on the much awaited gadget.

Major mobile service providers such as Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint, and AT&T have already stated their intentions to offer the new LG product.

In Canada, it will be available from almost all big service providers like Rogers, Bell, Videotron, SaskTel, Telus, Wind Mobile, Eastlink, Fido, Best Buy, MTS, Wireless Wave, Costco, The Source, and Tbooth wireless.

The LG G5 carries a 5.3-inch screen, along with its 16MP rear snapper and 8MP front shooter. Under the hood, the phone features a Snapdragon 820 chipset and will have 4GB of RAM. Internal storage is still the same with its predecessor, which is 32 GB.

Meanwhile, LG is giving away discounts on their current flagship, LG G4 in all major retailers in the US, which is a good indication that the release of its new model is nearing.

There are reports that Amazon is currently giving away the LG G4, which carries a 32 GB storage capacity, for only $374.98. The price of the handset when it first came out in the market was $679.99.

To all LG fanatics who are looking for a much cheaper smartphone with impressive specs, now is the best time to shop as most mobile providers are giving discounts for their LG G4 devices.
