Lenovo Vibe P2 spotted on benchmark site; rumored specs include 5.5-inch display, Snapdragon 625, 5000mAh battery

Lenovo has not announced anything official yet but the company is reportedly developing a successor for the Vibe P1 and Vibe P1 Turbo. Dubbed as the Vibe P2, the alleged device was recently spotted on a benchmark site.
According to a report, a Geekbench listing showed a Lenovo hardware tagged with the codename P2c72. Many suspected it's the Vibe P2 since the details included match to the Turbo device that was just recently released. If reports turn out to be correct, it means that the Chinese company's employees are already checking its performance. This also suggests that the device is set to arrive soon.
According to the listing, the Vibe P2 is pre-installed with Android 6.0 Marshmallow paired with some UI enhancements. It's also said to be equipped under the hood with an octa-core Cortex-A53 CPU Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 (MSM8953) clocked at 2GHz.
For its RAM count, the listing claims that it will run with 4 GB of RAM, making the handset qualified to be labeled under upper mid-range smartphones. And just like the Vibe P1 that was released last year, the Vibe P2 is expected to sport a large battery capacity. The listing claims that it will have the same whopping 5,000mAh non-removable battery.
GSM Arena also reported that Lenovo teased an image of the device during a trade show in Guangzhou, China. It showed the device sporting a metal build with a 5.5-inch 1080p AMOLED touchscreen accompanied with a 2.5 curved glass on top. Its size and resolution are said to be similar to its predecessors, the Vibe P1 and the Vibe P1 Turbo. The difference though is that the old models carried LCD panels.
Moreover, the smartphone is said to come with a physical home button. Rumors have it that the button will double as a fingerprint sensor. And regardless of the large battery pack, the device is purported to be 8.5mm slim.
It's not known yet when the Vibe P2 will hit tech stores but it may appear at the IFA trade show which is scheduled to take place this coming Sept. 2. Fans will have to stay tuned to find out.
