DC's "Legends of Tomorrow" premieres its much-hyped second season in the Fall, along with more interesting villains and heroes joining the cast.

It was recently revealed that the series will have a 13-episode run but according to Comic Book, The CW is open to the possibility of ordering nine more episodes to wrap up the season. Two super-teams will be battling it out this season: the Justice Society of America and the Legion of Doom which will include villains from the network's other superhero shows.

Speaking with Zap2it, executive producer Phil Klemmer shared his thoughts on John Constantine (Matt Ryan) from "Constantine" joining the show. The character's special appearance in "Arrow" season 4 had viewers buzzing and since it has been established that he exists in the "Arrow"-verse, Klemmer is not closing his doors on having him as a guest star. "If this show goes as many seasons as I hope it does, it would be a crime for him not to appear in our universe," the EP said.

Season 2 picks up on the events after Vandal Savage was defeated. A corruption involving the Time Masters begin to arise and an "unconventional and charming historian" Dr. Nate Heywood (Nick Zano) discovers that the Legends have been scattered throughout time. The heroes will eventually reunite to face a bigger challenge as they protect the timeline from threats which could lead to more catastrophic events.

Veteran actor Lance Henriksen has been recently confirmed as the show's newest addition, and he will play a member of the Justice Society of America named Obsidian. During the Television Critics Association summer press tour, executive producer Greg Berlanti hinted that one character will come out as gay this season.

"It is a significant character," Berlanti told reporters. "We're not trying to be coy about it. The only reason we [don't want to say who] is we really want the audience to enjoy the character development and not necessarily be ahead of the storyline."

"Legends of Tomorrow" season 2 premieres on Thursday, Oct. 13 at 8 p.m. ET. on The CW.
