'Legends of Tomorrow' season 2 air date, spoilers news: Jonah Hex confirmed to return; EP hints possible Sgt. Rock appearance; Star Victor Garber shares hopes for future storylines

DC's "Legends of Tomorrow" will feature the return of a familiar comic book character when season 2 premieres next month.
Jonah Hex (Johnathon Schaech) will be making his comeback in the hit superhero series for its upcoming installment this Fall. In a recent Twitter post, Schaech confirmed that he will reprise his role as the popular western antihero. Jonah first appeared in an episode in season 1 titled "The Magnificent Eight", which arguably was one of the most notable stories of the program's freshman run. Although the actor did not announce which episode he will be appearing in season 2, the episode title appears to be "Outlaw Country."
Season 2 will introduce the Justice Society of America, including their World War II background. In an interview, executive producer Marc Guggenheim confirmed the possibility of also introducing Sgt. Rock, a DC comics character traditionally depicted as a US World War II soldier. The EP said that Sgt. Rock is one of the DC characters they are planning to include in the program, assuring fans he will make his debut at some point in the story.
Meanwhile, star Victor Garber recently caught up with BBC where he described how his role in the series can be difficult at times. "There are locations and hours that just feel inhuman," he said. "Then there are days when it is just bliss. It's fun when it's fun and it's torture when it's torture."
Garber, who plays the role of Dr. Martin Stein a.k.a. Firestorm, also shared his hopes for his character and the series' future. "My hope for season two is more internal discoveries for the characters and their relationships," he continued. "And of course continuing to fulfill our mission, but hopefully there will be more interaction and more about their lives."
Catch the season 2 premiere of "Legends of Tomorrow" on Thursday, Oct. 13 at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
