A new case leads Benson (Mariska Hargitay) to choose between duty and loyalty in the upcoming episode of NBC's long-running procedural "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" season 18.

Titled "Rape Interrupted," next week's episode will be tackling a case involving a person in the force. According to the official synopsis for episode 5, a sergeant (guest star Anthony Edwards) forces Benson (Mariska Hargitay) to choose between loyalty and duty after his son is accused of raping someone. It turns out that the sergeant is Benson's very first partner out of the Academy, Sgt. Patrick Griffin. After discovering the connection between the two officers, Barba (Raul Esparza) questions whether Benson's past with Griffin is affecting the investigation.

"Law & Order: SVU" had its fair share of famous guest stars, but next week's episode might be very special for fans. As TV Guide points out, the upcoming episode will also mark a mini-"ER" reunion for Hargitay and Edwards. Before getting the role of SVU's Olivia Benson, Hargitay played a recurring role on the fourth season of "ER." Known as Cynthia Hopper, Hargitay's character is an inexperienced and needy clerk who had a short relationship with Edward's character Dr. Greene.

On another note, the show was supposed to air its Donald Trump-inspired episode next week. According to Chicago Tribune, sources claimed that NBC made a brass decision to to pull it out until after the election is finished. Titled "Unstoppable," the said episode features a Donald Trump-like character vying for the presidency who gets tangled up in a complicated case when several women go public and throw damaging accusations at him. Reports say that some other elements in the storyline make the episode very touchy to air in the current climate. NBC declined to comment on their decision to postpone the episode.

The 18th season of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" airs every Wednesday night at 9 p.m. ET on NBC.
