NBC's long-running cop drama "Law & Order: SVU" will be tackling one of the biggest newsmakers of this year in its upcoming episode.

Titled "Unstoppable," the next episode will be inspired by the recent issues surrounding Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.

According to reports, the veteran procedural will feature "Veep" star Gary Cole as he portrays a politician whose campaign takes a different turn after several women come forward and publicly reveal damaging accusations about him. The episode is slated to air on Oct. 26, which is less than two weeks before the Nov. 8 U.S. presidential elections.

The news comes in the midst of a rough week for the Republican nominee, who is currently under fire for because of a scandalous 2005 Access Hollywood video in which he was seen discussing with then co-host Billy Bush about groping women. Although Trump already apologized for the incident, it is undeniable that his campaign took a major hit because of the leaked footage.

The coming episode featuring a politician inspired by Trump shouldn't be much of a surprise for the audience. After all, the real-estate tycoon received a great amount of attention during this election cycle, specifically on how he treats women. "Law & Order: SVU" showrunner Rick Eid caught up with The Hollywood Reporter back in September, where he already hinted the possibility of having a political episode. "It is possible we may try to explore a story involving some sort of brash demagogue with political ambitions," Eid told the media outlet.

To give viewers an idea of what to expect, the official synopsis for episode 5 reads:

"A politician's (Emmy and SAG Award-nominated guest star Gary Cole) campaign goes haywire when several women go public with damaging accusations."

Also guest starring in the episode are Currie Graham, Meredith Travers, Bianca Amato and returning guest Peter Gallagher.

"Law & Order: SVU" season 18 episode 5 will air on Wednesday, Oct. 26 at 9 p.m. EST on NBC.
