'Law and Order: SVU' season 17 to take a long break, returns May 4

Following the recent installment "Sheltered Outcasts," "Law and Order: SVU" will be taking a month-long break. The American crime series is scheduled to return on May 4 with its 20th episode for the season.
According to a report by Hollywood Hills, only the episode 20 release date is confirmed, and that is on May 4, 2016, at 8:00 p.m. CT. As of the moment, no word yet from NBC with regards to the episode title. Furthermore, a promo/spoiler clip is expected to be unveiled very soon.
In the most recent episode of "Law and Order: SVU," Carisi's foundations seemed to have been shaken as he went undercover to a homeless shelter for sex offenders. As a devout Catholic, Carisi's perspective in life seemed to be simple. He went into SVU because he knew that rapists are bad guys. However, everything took a turn after his undercover assignment, which made him realize that the world is not black and white after all. It led him to question the system, as he saw the rapists as sympathetic, which in no way made the viewers agree. Fans are aching to know where Carisi's new worldview will take him, and if it ever causes him to break down at the end. For now, all viewers can do is speculate since the show will be off for quite a long time. Hopefully, NBC releases promo/spoiler clips early this month to give light to the viewers' questions and also to give fans ideas on what to expect.
"Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" is the first spin-off of Law & Order. The long-running American police procedural TV series revolves around crimes of sexual nature.Usually, the series features stories that are "ripped from headlines" or based on real-life crimes. The episodes are then fictionalized with the details changed.
